As Valentine’s Day nears, lovesick sweethearts begin to panic. Every Valentine’s Day the price of flowers and chocolate double. Not to mention restaurants are booked out months in advance.
Romantic indoor picnic
Although it’s still chilly outside, you can have a romantic indoor picnic to surprise your date. Picnics are not just for summertime. All you have to do is clear the lounge by moving furniture out of the way and throw a picnic blanket on the floor.
You can create the perfect atmosphere to woo your loved one by sprinkling flower petals on and around the blanket. You can place candle bags with LED tea lights all around the room to give the setting a romantic glow.
Also arrange some pillows around your picnic spot in front of the TV so you can end the evening by watching your favorite romantic movie.
Stick to the usual picnic finger foods, like a cheeseboard, preserves, crackers, a variety of cold meats and a bottle or two of your favorite wine.
Dinner for two
Even if you were lucky enough to get a spot at a romantic restaurant, a quiet dinner at home will probably score you more points. A busy restaurant will be noisy and filled with people, but an intimate dinner (which you cooked) will show your date that you’re willing to go the extra mile for him/her.
To make your date feel extra special, line the walkway up to your front door with candle bags on either side to create a path. Alternatively, if you have a swimming pool or pond out front, decorate it with floating lanterns containing LED tea lights. They not only look beautiful, but provide a great start to the evening. It creates a sort of “lover’s lane” leading up to your front door.
Planning on popping the question?
So, you’re finally ready to take that big step and propose to that special someone in your life. Let us be the first to say, congratulations!
Whichever way you choose to pop the big question make sure it leaves a lasting impression. Why not end the evening with a memorable gesture like releasing an eco wish lantern up into the night sky to celebrate this new stage in your relationship?
